About
Artist Statement
I use geometric fragments of monoprints to make detailed, richly patterned abstract collages on paper. I am inspired by architecture, fashion, and the natural world — especially flowers — all of which inform my shapes and color combinations. My work is whimsical and influenced by my dreams and memories. Growing up in Pakistan, the patterns and decoration I saw in traditional textiles and crafts shaped my art. I pay careful attention to detail while using lush combinations of patterns with vivid colors.
